Home is where the heart is....

And right now my heart and home are back in Seattle and I'm 1800 mile away. It's the last day here and I think it's time to head home. Nerves are starting to fray and I think we all want to get back to normal. Had a great time, but it's time. So I will talk to you all this weekend, have a great rest of the week!!

Well, I bought the damn can...

Another one of the great things about where we stay in Denver is that I know how to get around (in a car, get your minds out of the gutter!) so when we needed some more milk for breakfast tomorrow and some aloe Vera for some extra pink shoulders, I jumped in the car and zipped off to the King Soopers. Walking around the store I spied the beer aisle, now I'm not a beer drinker myself but the hubby likes his Labatts on occasion so I thought I would check. No Labatts, but there standing all by itself was a 24 oz Miller Genuine Draft.....hmmm. Ok, so I go up to it and spin it around and there's MY BOYS!!! Well, I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist, it was fate! So now everyone else will be going home with t-shirts sporting the names of all the great places we have been and mom's bringing home a can of beer!

So why the heck would someone spend the last half of their vacation, in another state, blogsurfing...

Well since you asked(and some people actually did)....Cuz I can! When we hit town to visit the family we always stay in this hotel; it's all suites so for a long stay it has those extra that can make it feel more like home, if your home had an indoor pool, jacuzzi, workout room, someone to cleanup after you and bring you fresh towels and sheets and THEN they did the wash! But another added feature is that because it's locate in the Tech Center part of town, it has computers - yippee!! Now really, I'm not a complete junkie, but while the kids are playing in the pool and I've had enough or when I can't sleep and they NEED to, why not popped in and have a little "me time". So here I am, I've balanced the checkbook and it looks like there's still money so I can get home, my in-laws have been updated and are delighted to hear we are having a grand time and I get to hear about what's been happening with all of you.....

Oh well!! Call me weird, a lot of people do....

Hi Ya'll from Denver!!

Well I couldn't resist -lol! We have arrived at our final destination and it's nice to be able to kick back and enjoy 5 relaxing days with all the family!! Won't bore you with all the details besides, what fun would that be with out the pictures to go along with it!! hehe.

I have to give a huge Thank You! to our girl Patty. Thanks again for a super time in our new adopted city, Calgary! We are now official honorary Calgarians, BTW, and I have the certificates to prove it!! Patty, I have a great picture of the kids in their hats that I have to send you. It was the first thing Glenn showed grandma and grandpa. Thanks again, we had an awesome time!!
I really should go, we're celebrating my dads b-day tomorrow with a big family BBQ and think I'll crawl in bed and get a good night's sleep. The kids are up in Greeley with mom and dad spending the night so all is calm around here. Geez, you'd think after being in a car with them for 8 days straight I would be glad to get rid of them, but I miss them already!! But, next time I see them they'll have their cousins with them, so that will be double the trouble!
Oh! One more thing before I go for Patty - Guess who's playing the Cheyenne Frontier Days?!?! We just can't seem to get rid of George or his damn tour busses!! But, we added a new tour bus today, got stuck behind one the the busses for Ozzfest here in Denver. The way they were driving, Kent was sure Ozzy was the one behind the wheel!!

** This weekend - So met up with Kent's parents and took the kids to the Nordic Heritage Museum's Trivoli Festival. Or as I like to call it, The annual "Yeah kids let's go catch up with your Dad's side of the family!! You know, the one's that raped and pillaged Mom's side!!.... OK, I don't actually say that to the kids...But I do LOVE tease Kent about it! Glenn said he wanted to get a Swedish flag to hang in his room. I told him "Not in my house Bud!!" Boy, did Kent roll his eyes at that one. LOL!! (yes, he got one - a very little one. The Irish flag he got from his other grandma's trip to Ireland is MUCH bigger! hehe)

** I get up today at 3:30AM so I can get into work by 6:00AM. The plan is to cram a 5 day/40 hr work week into 3 1/2 days so we can get out of town early Thursday afternoon....
And so I show up at work to no computers, none. The thought being they were working, just VERY slow. Like turn on computer, get coffee, gab about your weekend and then you can sign on 30 minutes later. And this is how the morning went: Point, click.....Clean up my cubie, go thru all the piles of papers, organize files I can't work on....Point, click....Wait some more, clean out my purse, found my AAA card (probably good to have for a road trip!), found stamps to mail some things that needed to go out, everybody decides to go to IHop and get breakfast but I decide to save all the change I just found in my purse and stay....Point, click.....Grab a garbage bag from the janitors room and head out to my car and clean it out, decide what the heck - half the building is gone - take all the change I just found and go get the car vacuumed (knew that change would come in handy!). Point, click.....Well, I think you get the idea. 5 hours later... We have computers and I'm still here trying to catch up. Looks like I'll be getting out of here earlier then I thought on Thursday!!

Well one week from today we start our vacation and the family road trip. 07/16/04 - 07/30/04 - Denver is the final destination (My family is there) My brother, niece and mom just got back from Ireland (GRRRR!) and can't wait to share their adventures (Didn't get a scroll though, Hehe!) Soooo here's the plan:

** If you don't hear from me by 08/02/04, You'll have an idea of where to send them to look for me. LOL!!

We do this almost every year and we always have fun. I think I'll use this as practice for next summer and DL touring.... Looks a little like a tour schedule, doesn't it??

psst - Patty, We'll be in Calgary around 07/20 - 07/21....You're programmed in the celly phone darlin!!

** What a crazy day at work!! Seem to be doing a little bit of EVERYTHING!

** *sings* "It's the end of the world as we know it..." Typical 4th of July in Seattle - Rains on the 4th and is bright and sunny on the 5th, just in time to go back to work. This is not what happened this year...Gorgeous weather for the entire 3 day weekend and rain today while we are all back in our cubies and could care less 'cuz we're at work anyway... I don't know about this...Think I might check the Red Cross sanctioned disaster bag under my desk and at home - the end may be near...

** DANG IT!! (Or words to that effect) Need the info people! Upon receiving half-assed information about certain docs required on a signing package, I now have to go back and correct 3 closing packages that are already done and ready to be FedEx'd....GRRRRR!

** So I've been watching "The Casino"... Now, if this show would have been on BEFORE our trip to Vegas, us girlies could have gone in the Golden Nugget when we were down on Freemont and maybe gotten ourselves on TV! Maybe Karaoke with Matt Dusk....

** Got totally in to the TV tonight...Blow Out and the return of my 2 fav summertime shows -The Amazing Race and Big Brother! I Don't watch a lot of TV in the summer, but I've always liked these two.

** Stayed up WAY too late trying to clean-up computer junk - The old peepers are burning!
