WARNING! WARNING! Gratuitous display of family vacation photos - you have been warned..........

Kelowna BC -

Great lake resort town with it's own sea (or lake) monster, Ogopogo!! Didn't see him, but he is the mascot for the local hockey team!!

All bow to the Memorial Cup!! Well, maybe not the rest of the world but to the guys in my family, next to the Stanley Cup, it's the Holy Grail!!

Off to Lake Louise, with a stop in Cragellachie, BC where the last was driven in the Canadian Pacific railroad. It's back there on the track somewhere behind the kids - don't ask me why, but I never actually got a pic of it!! lol

The Canadian Rockies!! What a beautiful drive!

This is the Yoho River - just around the corner from Lake Louise. We stayed in a great cabin in the woods next to the river.

Lake Louise - What a great place, just beautiful! We went thru the chateau, rode the gondolas up the mountain and Kent and the kids took the canoes out on the lake.

This is it for Edmonton - Edmonton didn't work out so well. The West Edmonton Mall had just flooded, Mr George Strait began haunting us and we couldn't get in to the Rexall Center (home of the Edmonton Oilers) when we wanted. So we headed down to Red Deer and really liked it. Nice little town half way between Edmonton and Calgary. Oh Well! That's life. We did get in to Rexall and the lady that met us was fabulous and took us all over. Unfortunately I let Kent have the camera and all the pics came out too dark. But, here's one in front of the statue of the "Great One" Wayne Gretsky and in front of the door for the Red Deer Rebels (Glenn got a cool jersey from Red Deer)

Yahoo! Calgary! And here we are with our official Certificates (and cowboy hats!) proclaiming us honorary Calgarians! Thanks again Patty!!

And here are some from the Saddledome: Had a super time here, LOVED IT! George Strait and all!

The Olympic Park in Calgary is really cool and we spent all day there.

The 90 metre Ski jump - From the side and from the top....

THE Olympic torch - The one that actually lit the flame for the Calgary Olympics. You have to ask, and they will take it out and let you hold it.

This was where the movie "Cool Runnings" was filmed, so of course the kids got their pic in front of the Bob Sleigh that was used in the movie.

On to Denver - But first, stops in Medicine Hat and Lethbridge (hockey thang...) Very nice people though. When they found out where we were from and why we were there they were great. Glenn got his pic with the Presidents Cup in Medicine Hat (see Holy Grail reference). The guy was going to let him hold it, but all 4 of us screaming NO! At the same time changed his mind. We all know this family's luck and this thing would have been crashing to the floor in no time! In Lethbridge the guy saw the kids t-shirts from Medicine and didn't have any, so he went to the freezer and got hockey pucks for the kids! Nice!

So, like I said, on to Denver..... In 24 HOURS!! Not the original plan, but the kids wanted to get there so bad and Kent was on the driving high "Let's just go for it!" Nice thought, but he always conks out at some place and it's me, the Semi Trucks, the dead of night looking for deer that might jump across the road and road construction!! But we did it and it was fun to call my mom and surprise her by saying we were there.

The kids that begged us to keep driving.....Yeah this is what they did!

So here are some pics from the time with the family:

Me and "The Girls":

No matter how old they are, to my mom these two will always be the "Little Ones":

Ooooh... An actual photo of me and the Hubby - no kids! Except for the little hand doing the thumbs up! Way to go Glenn!

The only shots we really got from Six Flags before that lovely Midwest summer phenomenon known has the afternoon thunderstorm! Kent and the girls had just sat down on the Tower of Doom and Glenn and I had just gotten to the front of the BatWing when they shut the rides down due to lightning...grrrrrr. Should have know better! Same thing happened at the water park the day before. Oh Well!

They're up there somewhere....

And of course we had to hit the Pepsi Center for the new Av's gear and take the tour. And Em saw this concert pic and HAD to get her pic taken. She loves AC/DC. I love the shot - AC/DC in her Def Leppard t-shirt! No pics of DL, cuz they played the old McNicols arena (please refer to your "In your face, in the round" DVD)

This is one is for Patty: THANKS AGAIN!!

And that's IT!! I thought I would get this over with in one sitting and you survived!!!

Now back to our regular programing.....
